Client Description:  Our client is an international, fast-growing engineering design company in the renewables industry.

Position Summary: The Purchasing Specialist will support the Procurement Team and will be responsible for all purchase order related duties.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify purchase orders: Compare requested items to master list, clarify any unclear items, recommend alternatives if applicable, and obtain purchase approval
  • Select appropriate vendors for requested commodities by identifying price, quantity, quality, and deliver dates for each
  • Communicate and ensure that all purchasing procedures are adhered to by all teams and departments
  • Point of contact for vendors: send orders to suppliers, monitor placed orders, ensure correct items have been purchased, fix any shipping errors, and obtain purchased items
  • Maintain continuity among the teams by organizing and documenting all purchase order information
  • Place orders from internal and external requestors

Essential/Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or a combination of experience and industry related certificates
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  • Minimum of five years buying experience
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
  • Experience resolving receiving and billing discrepancies
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to read drawings and relay information to external vendors accordingly
  • Experience processing and organizing NDAs and other Agreements
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication
